January 2015 Upgrade Features

SmartSimple is getting the year off to an exciting start with our first round of upgrade features. These latest enhancements will be accessible to our SaaS clients as of Friday, January 30, 2015.

We’ve made several changes to the Arcadia interface this time around, streamlining your experience with SmartSimple. Full details will be covered during our upgrade webinar, on our Wiki and in our upgrade video.

Enhanced Recurring Event Updates in the SmartSimple Calendar
We’ve enhanced your SmartSimple calendar, offering more options for updating recurring events. Quickly and easily add a new attendee, change a meeting location or time, or update a dial-in number. 

Adjustable Column Width Screen
Adjustable List View Column Widths
This enhancement enables users to go to any list view and adjust the width of any column.

Enhanced Duplicate Check for Additional Fields
We’ve enhanced the duplicate checking feature so you now have even more options to look for duplicate information in your system.

New Statuses for Organizations and Contacts
Like assigning statuses to grant applications, you can now assign statuses to any organization or contact within your system.

Enhanced Custom List View Export
We’ve enhanced the list view functionality with the ability to specify custom export templates, allowing for greater flexibility and making it easier to export.

New Import Interface for Auto Loader Imports
Now, you can process and preview your file before you import it, providing the option to refine what data will be included and how it will appear before importing.

Versioning – Beta Test
This feature is available for beta testing, to provide you with a sneak peak at this upcoming enhancement. We encourage you to take a look and let us know what you think. Your feedback is extremely valuable in helping us develop exactly what your organization needs!

Working Smarter, Working Simpler – Changes to the SmartSimple Wiki

The SmartSimple Wiki is the place to go to learn how to work with SmartSimple. We post information on how to configure your system, training and upgrade videos, and other helpful stuff.

We’ve had feedback from our clients saying that the Wiki is great if you’re a System Administrator, but for other users, such as Grants Administrators and Claims Managers, there was definitely some room for improvement.

We’ve taken your comments to heart, and made some changes we hope will improve your experience.

The first thing you’ll notice is we’ve updated the main page. Now it’s much more clear what each section contains and how to get to the information you need.

One other thing you’ll notice is we’ve created a new category we simply call Why.

The Why category is geared specifically to the user who is looking to understand not just what features are available, but why they’re important.

Why category articles are short pieces explaining the significance of features like Email Anything, Notes and Multiple Sign-Up Pages. These articles are meant to help you gain a better understanding of how they help make your work life easier.

At the bottom of several Why articles, you will find an icon called How, that guides you to where you can find out “how” to set up and work with these features, either with the help of your System Administrator or on your own.  For example, if you check out the Why article on Number Formatting, you will find a link at the bottom of the page that takes you to the page on How to set it up on your system.

We’ve started out with just a few Why articles, and will be adding more all the time, so be sure to check back regularly.

Another helpful tool we’ve added is our Acronyms, Abbreviations and Terminology resource. Not sure what a UTA is? Always wondered what http stands for and what makes it different from https? Unclear what someone means when they refer to your SmartSimple Instance? All these and more are now included on our Wiki.

Coming from SmartSimple in 2015…

Now that everyone is back from holidays and getting into the swing of a shiny new year, the SmartSimple team wanted to give you a quick overview of some of our plans for 2015.

First off, we’re putting a stronger focus on customer satisfaction.  By actively reaching out to our clients to gain insight, input and ideas, we will become more responsive to your needs, providing features, improvements and services to ensure you have the tools you need to streamline your processes.

We’ll also be introducing some new products and an improved customer care package, so be sure to check our website, our blog and upcoming newsletters for updates and information.

You’ll see us at a variety of upcoming conferences, giving us the chance so to spend more time meeting face-to-face with our clients and members of the communities we help serve.

In 2015, look for us at the Florida Philanthropic Network (FPN) in Orlando, The Association of Corporate Contributions Professionals (ACCP) in Nashville, the Grants Managers Network (GMN) conference in National Harbor, the Council of Michigan Foundations in Kalamazoo, the Technology Affinity Group (TAG) conference in Los Angeles, and the Council of Foundations conference in San Francisco, just to name a few.

Of course, we’ll also be hosting more webinars and other events, so keep an eye on upcoming newsletters and our website’s events section for details.

Our first upgrade for 2015 is coming up in a couple of weeks, with exciting enhancements and new features. The January upgrade webinars are scheduled for Tuesday, February 3rd at 10am EST and Thursday, February 5th at 2pm EST, so be sure to sign up and learn what we’ve done to get your year off to a great start.

A New Year Brings A Little More Care!

Happy New Year! We hope your holiday season was enjoyable, and you’re ready to dive into 2015!

We’ve been working on some exciting enhancements to our customer care process, and we’re pleased to announce some structural improvements, ensuring we’re offering the best possible service to you and your community.

Effective January 1, 2015, the following changes have taken place at SmartSimple:

Sarah Harris, Director of Client Support and Operations, is transitioning into a leadership position with our Support Team. We’ve also introduced a new role, which will take our customer care experience to the next level.
