SmartSimple in New York City - Interview with Michael Reid

To celebrate the opening of our New York City office, SmartSimple is publishing a series of interviews with our staff to find out more about this exciting new move (and new city)!

This week, we've spoken to SmartSimple Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Michael Reid about SmartSimple's new location and how it ties into our plans for the future.

What made you decide to expand SmartSimple into New York City?

With an increasing number of customers in the United States, it's most appropriate that we establish an office in the financial and cultural capital of the country. It was also important that our new office have local staff with a full understanding of the environment.

How does our New York office fit into SmartSimple’s strategy for success and growth in 2013?

Becoming a small global company has always been a goal of ours, and with the addition of a U.S. office we're that much closer to achieving it. With today’s technology, it’s possible for smaller companies such as ours to “go global” and provide clients with excellent service, exceptional value and agile solutions in ways that were not possible in the past.

Will SmartSimple need to alter our business approach in any way to adapt to New York?

Only time will tell, but we are always expecting change. No doubt we will learn many new things along the way. But, then again, that’s what growth is all about.

Does SmartSimple have any plans to open more offices internationally?

Yes, we still have a huge gap in Asia. We would really like to fill this gap over the next two years by opening an operation in Singapore.
